I wish I would have known years ago. You always hear the mantra, it's not the cooker it's the cook. Well, after seeing this, I think it definitely has to be the cooker. While bored today I stopped in a local Goodwill store to see if there was anything I couldn't live without. Then I saw this:

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-gMjYzWqjGyg/TnUYyxxpdVI/AAAAAAAADJ8/5Lae7Wbp8Zc/s1280/IMAG0599.jpg

I have seen the light and been given the holy grail :hail::hail::hail::hail:

Well, I did in fact leave It on the shelf. I didn't even open the box to check the contents.

However, I am now feeling what I think is non-buyers remorse :noidea:. Maybe I might get bored again tomorrow :tsk:

Well...the FIRST thing you want to do is convert it to 220 so that you can maintain 300F easier...

That's one of those things I would have brought home (if the price was low enough) just to have around - probably never even use it. It would keep me appreciating the other smokers I have :)

Well, I stopped by on the way home from work and to my amazement it was still there. Yeah, I have a new toy and I am proud of it. Maybe tomorrow I will have some time to unbox it as it appears to be brand new. As a bonus the box says it has a cookbook with 40 recipes . If not the box has a few. I shall soon dominate the BBQ world :bow:

Just to reinforce my great fortune, look what Barb has to say:

great item, Member nails69

Heating element under a ceramic plate. No smoke that I can determine from the on line review I read, just another electric roaster?

It has magic smoke :thumb: I mean, it is a BBQ Pit after all. It must have smoke from somewhere. (insert liquid smoke joke here)

gtr

Maybe the smoke comes from frayed wiring?

I'd like to know where to find Barb for consultation on future purchases.

Nevermind on that recipe. Apparently it's not *that* kind of crockpot.

Now if you can just find a way to cook with it at comps!

I'm thinking you use your pit for the competition meats, and for samples you have this baby cooking away a SRF 20lb Wagyu? Heck, why not?
When your competition comes by to sample your goods hand 'em some of that, and watch them dance away from your booth in joy!

Well, here it is. I know you have all been on the edge of your seats waiting with antici

pation.

Well, sure enough it was brand spankin' new, still in original packaging and wrap.

And here she is fully assembled with the fantastic cookbook I was hoping for :clap2:. Assembly was quite easy as there are only 4 parts. It is just a base, stone bowl, rack and lid. All I had to do was snap the fancy, long life plastic hinge together.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Uc5WKW-Ggig/TnkRX3_LgbI/AAAAAAAADMc/U9m137tkOpM/s1280/IMAG0622.jpg

And the inside. Notice the rack is in rib mode :thumb:

Temp control might be a little difficult but I think I will get the hang of it after a couple cooks :noidea:

At last, I have found the secret to BB's (notice the second to last ingredient) :tsk:
