In case someone out there is thinking about using this product on their que, here is what it looks like about two minutes after you put a dime-size serving on a piece of beef jerky and eat it.

All I did was a bit of auto color and auto sharpen. He was very red and very sweaty. It wasn't hot, and we were in the shade with a nice breeze. He was sweating like the proverbial pig. He sat with a mouthful of water for a long time. He was still hurting an hour later.

Two other people were hurting after just touching a drop to their tongues. Just smelling it made me cough.

Ghost chillies are nothing to play with. The heat doesn't hit you all at once. It slowly builds like it's sneaking up on you and by the time you realize what kind of mess you are in it's too late as the heat continues to intensify. I've tried GC sauce once on hot wings and won't be trying it again, thank you.

crazy. I just googled this pepper.

“bhut jolokia” — the “ghost chili.” Anyone who has tried it, they say, could end up an apparition. “It is so hot you can’t even imagine,” said the farmer, Digonta Saikia, working in his fields in the midday sun, his face nearly invisible behind an enormous straw hat. “When you eat it, it’s like dying.”

But, don't misconstrue my post above to think that I'm not amused at watching other first time GC tasters. Yeah, it's very funny as long as no one suffocates.

Many years ago my Dad had a jar of little green home pickled peppers. I still don't know what variety they were but just licking one was like a firecracker going off in your mouth. A visitor came over and we were telling them how hot the peppers were. They started laughing at us and said there is NO pepper too hot for them to eat. So, we gave them one. They bit it off at the stem and then turned red, turned blue, almost fell out of the kitchen chair and starting gasping for air. I thought they were going to suffocate right in front of me. They finally recovered without breathing problems after about 10 minutes. They didn't ask to eat any more of those peppers and didn't brag about being able to eat any pepper again either. Once I realized they weren't going to die, it became one of my funniest memories.

I've got some Ghost pepper rub. It's a small bottle and it's been lasting me a really long time. Once in a while, a small - and I mean small - shake of the stuff is the right thing. It can wake a dish right up, but it overpowers really easily though. I enjoy hot food, but it's gotta have flavor to back it up. I like to enjoy what I'm eating, and a strong kick is great, but sauce that can be used for crowd control is not.

I pretty much know my limits, and I do not see tasting that bad boy on my list of things to try in my lifetime.

I do want to go to Brick Lane in NYC and try Phaal but I do not think it is quite as hot as the ghost chili. Who knows.

I wasn't aware tabasco made a ghost pepper sauce. I couldn't find it on thier site. Picked up a couple of these dried pods in the market last week, haven't decided what to do with them yet

Actually, that may be what he ate. The label looks kind of the same -- I only saw it for a few seconds. From that quick look, I thought I saw the Tabasco label.

This isn't just hotter then hell but it's also got good garlic smokey flavor, I got it at a hot sauce festival here in Austin last month for 5 bucks really good.

Yeah, I think the shape and text on the Dave's label just looked like Tabasco's logo in the brief time I saw it.

If you need more than habanero, you aint doing something right!?!? Take a big ol' bite of habenero next time you are craving pepper (i.e. pot of pintos or chili). Offer a one habanero pepper challenge to the drunk guy. They look like little pumpkins.

We took up a $20 collection in college 20 years ago for a guy to eat a whole jar of tabasco peppers. He was not happy the next morning when we had hidden the toilet paper. Oddly enough, he was sober and we were drunk. I had eaten a few the night before and knew what was lurking for him the next morning. Sometimes I miss being young and foolish, but not often!

No. Like I said, I only saw the label briefly. I can't change the name of the thread title, so I'll probably have to answer this question forever.

Me and some friends of mine were chewing on a fresh Ghostie last night at the bar. One of the guys has started harvesting his and bringing them in. It's about the 3rd little nibble that seems to hit me hard. I think my tongue was still tingling about an hour after that. They are super hot but there is a great fruity taste before the heat hits. I'm waiting for my plants to produce some soon then I'm not sure what I want to do with them.

ya watch out with daves gourmet sauces. they are extremely hot. i have one thats slightly less hot than the ghost pepper sauce, i have the "Ultimate Insanity"

i use a toothpick that i barely dip in the sauce that is on the cap after i open the bottle and just swirl it in my soup (and sometimes its still too spicy)

the only time i actually put more than a drop and spread it on a piece of quesadilla i thought i was gonna vomit.

I like spice/heat on various foods. But I like it to enjoy the heat/flavor not for the pain. If its so hot it causes pain then your not enjoying the food
