Today I went to see Bluetang and begged for his help. I didn't have to beg very much.:-D
I had this idea of turning a OTS into a WSM and figured he might have a better idea, which he did.:-D
I got this OTS on CL for $40, of course that was before Target had their big sale. But $40 bucks is still not bad. Here she is.

She is in good shape. Weber had sent me a new WSM cylinder cause mine was out of round, and I just could not bring myself to throw it away. This is what we came up with.

We had to bend in the top of the cylinder to make the OTS lid fit. BT had that figured out in no time. Notice the top is silver where the ceramic popped off. Not that bad and the top fits, well almost, but good enough. When I got home i took my angle grinder to it and polished it a bit. then a coat of heat resistant paint and it's done. Sort of.

I thought about changing the legs, but it is pretty stable the way it is. I am going to drill the lid and put in a thermometer. I had an extra WSM fire ring and it fits perfectly. All I need now is a water pan and another grate and I have a very tall WSM. Now on to CL to make my fortune!!:clap2::clap2::clap2:
So here I have a complete and original OTS for grilling or whatever. Then a WSM for smoking when I want too.
So my brethren friends, What should I name it. Send me your ideas and maybe I'll put up a poll.
