I made some coleslaw to go with some pulled pork sammiches tomorrow and here's the low-down on it... I have made this recipe several times before and it's good stuff :)

Ingredients:

1 head of cabbage
1 carrot
1 1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped onion
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 teaspoons tarragon vinegar
1/2 cup sugar

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3402440/pics/blog/20110827_Slaw_0508.jpg

I shredded the cabbage and carrots and added the chopped onions...

Added the rest of the ingredients and mixed it up very well... into an airtight container and into the fridge to marinate overnight...

Really good stuff if you like sweet and creamy coleslaw southern style :)

your slaw with Peanut Butter is the bomb. The only stuff my wife allows me to make. Now you are throwing me a curve ball.

That looks great. We are big slaw fans around here. Just can't seem to have any type of pork without some version of slaw.

Looks and sounds good. My dad was from Kentucky and pretty much taught my mom how to cook. So I grew up with a "simple slaw" of cabbage and carrot with a dressing of mayo, vinegar and sugar. I still make it that way most the time, but always open to new flavors, The Terragon vinegar sounds like a good twist for sure. Thanks for sharing!

DUKES! At least you know Mayo!!! :thumb:

Let me tell you something.........Never in my life have I tasted a mayo as good as Dukes. I live in Ohio and had never heard of it before. Well, we have some scratch and dent stores out here amongst the Amish and they had Dukes in there one day. We needed mayo, the price was right but little did I know of the addiction that moment would create! We actually buy ALL of it if they have it for fear we may never see it in their stores again.

Your slaw looks great and probably tastes all that much better with the Dukes! Will have to make this soon.

I love creamy coleslaw! I love vinegar slaw too but since I grew up with creamy it is dear to my heart.

I haven't heard of Duke's mayo before. For me Hellman's was the stuff to use if you didn't make your own.

Gonna have to find me some Dukes now.
