After more than 10 years of misuse and neglect, my turkey fryer finally bit the dust. Any Brethren know a good place around Kansas City to pick one up? I don't need anything but the fryer itself (frame & burner only).

Thanks!

How soon do you need it? I would troll craigslist for a bit if you have time. I am not sure about finding a burner by itself around but I am sure you can. On the other hand though, since most stuff is a package deal, why not splurge for the extra pot? Or, check out a fish fryer that just has a smaller pot.

Not sure exactly what you are looking for but here are a few quick ones I found...

I use it to start my charcoal, so I'm back to newspaper until I can find a replacement... But yeah, all options are still on the table. While I don't need the whole kit, I'd buy one if the price is right. It's just been so longsince I've been in the market, I really don't know where the best (cheapest) place is to start looking...

Same here.
WalMart, Home Depot & Lowes all seem keep em in stock pretty much year round (I know I saw one at WallyWorld last week). Same for sporting good stores like Dick's & Academy.

Interesting enough, it usually costs just as much for a complete fryer kit as it does for just the burner.

Too bad you're not a bit closer. I think I have 2 or 3 of those things in the garage (and have a couple of friends with a similar problem).

I'm curious. What the heck happened to your old one? I don't think I've ever heard of one falling apart.

Dented and broke a weld on the wind screen and the bolt holding the casting onto the support rusted through and broke off. Figured it would be cheaper and easier to replace it than try to fix it.

I may just bite the bullet and pick up one of these dudes from The Cajun Shoppe (http://www.cajunshoppe.com/page05.htm)...

You may want to look into a Big Easy oil less. Save a lot of money not buying oil.

Some places that sell them: MSI (tractor supply), Walmart, Academy, Bass Pro, Cabelas, Lowes, Home Depot, and our 3 local Hardware stores. I am sure I left some out.

Checked the local wally-world tonight and no luck. I think I'm just going to get a good one that I can't break and one that puts out a chitload more BTU's than the old one I had. Looks like by the time I'm done, I'd have around $70 invested in a crappy one, and for a little more I can get one that will melt down an M1A1 Abrams...
