I just bought a big green egg (large). My question is regarding the bge charcoal. There charcoal is about 10 to 15 dollars per 20 pound bag more than other charcoals, is it worth it ? Do you reccommend it?

nope, buy royal oak at walmart for 6.37 for 10 lbs. bge doesnt make charcoal, royal oak makes their charcoal, and slaps a bge label on it.

Yup...same charcoal, different bag for an extra $10. I guess the green bags get petty pricey. Primo does the same with ther charcoal. It's all RO.

Yes, BGE is pretty much RO, which you can do better if you look around.

I find RO sucks, BGE is ok, like wicked good lump or some other brands.... The BGE stuff is the best of the RO lot - plain old RO has small pieces and uncharred pieces in my opinion at least in the two times I bought it...
