The closest Sam’s we have only sell Brisket Flats and do not carry the whole packers. Is this true to the Sam’s in your area? The only place I can get on is at Wal-Mart and they are for the most part a Select you may find a Choice once in a while.

I've been a member of Costco for a few years and they only carry flats though some people have said their region carried packers.

Then I ventured into Sams and they carry full packers so I signed up that day. Before that Walmart was the only place to really get them around me. But my Sams does have the full packers. Not sure why it is so random for each region.

The 2 sams in louisville carry packers all the time.
Some times they are in the back and you have to ask.
I have seen them in etown and bowling green also.
Where are you located>

My Sam's carries packers, flats and my current favorite corned beef briskets. It's my one stop shop, of course I'm in a one horse town.

They will hold ones I want until I'm ready to pick them up, and when I'm buying 2 or 3, they will let me root through a couple of cases to pick the ones I want.

I'm in the same boat. we don't have a Sam's and the only places that I can get full packers from is Walmart and my local butcher. My butcher sells CAB and local beef and Walmart only has choice.

I have a comp next month and not mutch to choose from around here.

1. Wal-Mart briskets
2. Sam's small flat briskets

3. order online? Sam's has Kobe briskets for $80 on line I wonder how much shipping would be?

I guess we are lucky here Shiz, our Sam's usually has packers and flats.

you would think Sam's meat and Wal-Mart meat would be about the same.

Not our Wal-Mart... meat is not the best

Why not see if you can order online from Sam's, and pick-up at the Sam's store? This way maybe they will ship for less or at no charge.

I'm going to need to go find a good "intro to brisket" thread. I'm a bit confused here.
Don't know what would be best for me. I would like to make one again but last time I just grabbed a "brisket" and let 'er rip. It was good, but I need to learn more. Gonna go find that thread now.....

Before I got my RD membership I only had Walmart to chose from, not to mention I had to travel to New York as NO ONE in Ontario carries them. I got accustomed to the Walmart selection and most cases the packers were pretty good. For the price, why not try one before your comp?
