Idaho Beef Council Celebrates National Filet Mignon Day

Friday, August 12, 2011 3:02 PM CDT

BOISE - Don’t be put off by a little French, because Filet Mignon simply means delicious as far we we’re concerned. The filet, a steak that may be more familiar to some as the Tenderloin, is one of the most tender and leanest of beef cuts. So to celebrate this luscious steak, try one of our tasty recipes on Aug. 13, national Filet Mignon Day.

These will be going on the Bubba Keg in about 3 hours

Those are cut different than any I have seen around here. Did you cut them yourself from a whole loin? Damn good beef for sure.

I'm celebrating by cooking left over filets in my chili.

Along with leftover brisket, ribeyes, strip & ribs.

Yeah, those don't look like beef tenderloin with the square cut ends and the sideways grain. Are you sure?
