WOW! I wish I could vote for all of them....

Not a single shabby entry here!

I had to go with Saiko! Love the colour and the smoke ring and the burnt ends. Theresa B, a close second with beautiful presentation... just missing those burnt ends. Then Redhot! Way to go Redhot! Oh yeah... I really like Ronelle's eggs too!

Cheers!

Lots of great entries but the one I appreciated most was Saiko's. Burnt ends! That's where it's at! The flat slices are amazing looking as well. There is nothing in that shot but amazing looking brisket. :thumb:

Wow. Tough call. They all look very tasty. Since I only have my feeble attempts at brisket to compare to, they are all winners. Based on appearance and unique flavor profile, I'm voting for Redhot. :thumb:

I'm kind of surprised / pleased how well my platting photo came out. I was trying to slice my brisket with my buddy's 2-year old having a melt down at the kitchen table, their 4 and 6 year olds coming in and out of the house repeatedly asking if they could eat yet, and my wife looking over my shoulder trying to tell me to just ignore it (I don't do kids crying). My poor wife got the cutting fork in her face and a nasty, "don't tell me what to do." :shame: And of course, I'm trying to snap a photo as quickly as possible so that no one would see what I was doing (I'm scare of my worlds colliding). And, the lighting in my kitchen is very sub-optimal for a TD entry. But, it was fun.

It was between Ron L & bigabyte, because I think both of those would taste the least like brisket :becky: And since I am not a big fan of mustard, bigabyte gets my vote with Ron L a close second :thumb:

I can only say that I consider Dan and Guerry's entries as faking messes, Dan clearly need sleep and a lesson on slicing meat :-P and Guerry sliced his brisket with the grain. With the grain! Really? GAH!

Bob, my entry may be a FARKING mess, but it is NOT a FAKING mess. Geeewhizzz.

I knew mine sucked when I entered it, but I figured at least someone would like sucky pictures...and I kinda thought Chris would go with the other pic...then I would have won. It's a conspiracy I tell ya.

I usually judge Brisket that is in a white styro box so I tried to envision how they all would look like that. What a hard choice!

But Miss B had hers all laid so nice and it looked so moist I could almost taste it. She got my vote.

But sooo many good entries, it made me feel so good that you all can cook such good Brisket.

Nice job to everyone.:clap2::clap2:

K, second day and the choice isn't any easier. I tried the old standby of just throwing a dart but all that got me was an upset IT guy. Mostly I am trying to keep the topic of the throwdown in mind. While they are all great briskets, the topic is Brisket Appreciation. So, which entry truly conveys eh appreciation for brisket...

Yep and yep. The flavor profile was very complex with the injection after marinating. Combined with the smoke and overall tenderness it was definitely appreciated. I'm letting Redhot do the briskets in this house from now on.:becky::thumb:

It was savory, sweet, spicy and rich all at the same time. I took some to my supervisor (only a few slices 'cause I was being greedy:icon_blush:) and she wants the recipe...she couldn't believe it had bourbon and coffee in it, when their flavors marry they make a whole different one. And it was gone in two days. I'm actually going to try it on a different cut of meat - yeah, it's that good! You should try it yourself, you'll see.
