What the best way to stabilize a flimsy box? I have some aluminum angle and want to stop the far side of my firebox from being so wobbly. My carpentry knowledge (little) tells me to cross brace, but the question is where?

Top, bottom through the middle? Box in question is on an SKD and the end away from the cook chamber is quite unstable when the end door is ajar. This is because of thin steel and a heavy lid. I would like to keep the top access open and the side as clear as can be to clean ash out the end.

Idears?

I welded square tubing underneath the firebox both front and back, the length of the cooker, side to side. This stabilized the whole thing.

Well, I was dumb enough to not think of using the cook box as a "splint" of sorts but that is a good idea.
