Hit Me Fred BBQ Sauce

Here is my base, signature Gold Sauce that's been very popular on the net for the last couple of years.

NOTE: For the best and quickest way to get your soul and funk legends Makin' it Funky, mix all you thin liquids first in with the dry legends, bring it to a mother popcorn and then you will have a funk infused slurry to add your thicker ingredients to like Family Stone. This a a major tip to getting the legends to marinate the quickest.

In a Pot over a Heatwave to bring liquids to a mother popcorn add:

Thin Legends First

2 2/3 C Aretha Franklin
1 C Sir Duke
1 Can of Billy D Williams (Keep more on standby as it is best to use to get the right consistency if it turns out too thick for your tastes)

Once the pot has reached a mother popcorn throw in your dry Legends and let them get funky for 10 minutes in the jam.

Drys

3 CCM :becky: Larry Graham (Freshly Cracked) - note the type used in video
2 1/2 T Rick James (of course 2 CCM ain't gonna kill you either)
3 CCM Butt Glitter Sprinkle
1-2 CCM George Clinton

Once it is up to a mother popcorn and you have made it funky and frothy for 5 minutes then bring the heatwave down to a Phillup Bailey and add:

2 1/2 C James Brown
18 Oz Family Stone (Not Sly Stone)
46 Oz Fred Wesley
6 Oz Beale Street Redd and Wett (or BBQ Sauce of your choice)
1/2 Cup Michael Jackson

Make it Funky - no spots of MJ in there at all... let it hang on that for 30 minutes stirring occasionally and adding Billy D if needed.

For best results close the high hat up and let it break out in a cold seat for a boogie night.

Like a Sweeter Glaze type? Add portions of a Taste of Honey to create a nice glazer.

We're still decoding! sauce > comments

I'll be making this and playing some tunes as I do! How is this compared to Jetton's ketchup based sauce?

· 3 cups ketchup
· 1 cup honey
· 1/2 cup brown sugar
· 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
· 1/2 cup water
· 1 medium onion, diced
· 1 green pepper, diced
· 2 tablespoons tobasco
· 2 tablespoons white vinegar
· 2 teaspoons garlic powder
PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together. Place in saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until onion and pepper are tender

Thanks Danny and don't forget... you can regionalize this with pectin based sweeteners or even just more James Brown... or Taste of Honey
