Funny thing is, I checked the site over the weekend and there was no sale. Now it shows $5. I guess it's a post holiday sale....

yea, there are no sales ads but if you type in stubb in the search it shows it for $5. hope that is in store rather than forcing you to order it.

I just ordered it online, and selected local pick up. So I had to print out the receipt, and then take it to them. Going to pick it up after work today! Great deal, Stubbs seems like its never on sale.

The last time they had them on sale for $4.25 was back in March and it was not over a holiday. I still have plenty left from that sale.
Just checked online here in Tennessee (Nashville) and its showing $8.49. I did stock up at the last bogo but could use a few more.

Oh my Georgia brethren, I am on my way to Lowe's in Norcross to pick up as much Stubb's as I can carry for $5 per bag. Bring the webad with you and it will be honored. :thumb:
Thank you George! :clap2:
I never see Stubb's on sale here, it's always just Kford.

Yep, it wasn't even marked on sale in the store. I stopped by to pick up one bag and left with six after the cashier told me it was $5. I'll probably get a few more bags if I remember to before it goes back to $8.49 or whatever the regular price is, but I was in a hurry and there were few left on the skid...several of those damaged. Hopefully, they'll have some more bags when I go back in.

I just bought a few bags on the 1st and paid 8.49. I'm going to go back for more and have them refund the difference on the bags from July 1. I'd rather have 30 pounds of Stubb's for $10 than 40 lbs of Kingston for $ 7.50.

I just called them and after the guy looked on line said "Yep, I wish they'd tell us when they do that" He also said it was on sale until 7-11-2011

Hmm, just when I finished explaining to the wife why I needed a dozen bags of Kingsford, this stuff goes on sale again.
I don't suppose w-mart will be having a sale on RO lump anytime soon?
Then I'll really be in trouble.

Sorry noob here. Is this Stubbs charcoal the same quality as lump, just in briquet form? I've been a fan of everything else I've used with his name on the label.

Short answer: its an all-natural briquette with a neutral smell. Less ash production than most briqs and none of the strong smell of Kingsford Blue when first lit.
Here's one old thread.

I stopped of at one of the Lowe's here before we get the heavy rain expected. Got 6 bags! It wasn't marked on sale so I asked a young lady to check the computer and she tells me there's no sign, it's not on sale. After getting her to check the computer, she says "it is on sale!". She was surprisedlike as if I had inside info. Lol.... I went back down the isle and snatched up five more bags and as I'm rolling away I see her telling an older gentleman(employee)about the sale price and he just gave me a stare down like as if I had just stolen something. Funny!!
Actually I guess it is a steal since it's usually $8.97.
Heck! I may pick up some more if I have to pass by there again.

$5.00 here in Austin too. And I just ran out a few weeks ago! Been suffering through generic grocery store brand briqs that don't come close in performance.

Our local Lowes is showing $5/15lb bag. I just ordered 13 bags online(still have 2 bags and 15 bags seems like a good number) for in store pickup. Not sure how I'm gonna explain this one to the fiancee being i just bought 200+ lbs of Kingsford last week. But in the long run, i am saving money as i would have ended up paying a lot more buying a bag at a time....that's what i keep telling myself anyway...

At our Lowes here in Michigan it was not listed on sale on the floor and the sales guy said it was not, however, when it scanned through the register, the sale price came up.

not here. scanned at regular price and they did not know it was on sale. online it clearly is $5/bag, at that location.
unfortunately my wife trusted the word of them over me  and didn't push the issue.

I just picked up 4 bags myself... had six in the cart, but then decided to put 2 back because I don't go through it as quickly as a lot of y'all.
The price was clearly marked on the shelf at my store, so the printout I brought wasn't necessary. The cashier told me they'd sold out of Blue bag over the weekend and that he hadn't seen them sell any of the Stubb's. I took the opportunity to educate him on the difference.
