Looks good except for those beer pics. :tsk:

well the pics of the beer are good, but the picks of beer may be in question.

personally, i was weened with guiness, newcastle, sam smith's, harpoon, sam adams, and anything belgian....

but alas, 50 cents a can wins out sometimes...

funny you ask that vinny...

it was @ a year ago almost to this day, you told me you weren't BBQing competitively any longer cuz you just want to Q...i didn't get it then, but after this cook i certainly do now.

this cook was my last comp. trial run for taste combos before troy.

the stacking of flavor really masks which rub i liked better, if ya know what i mean.

i ate about 6 of these and boy my head nearly split in 2 a half hour later.

anyway, all chatter aside, HomeBBQ rub REALLY accentuates the pork rib flavor. it is mild when tasted fresh from the shaker, but works some magic on the meat.

Oakridge secret weapon is very similar to the rub i've been working with/on but has a depth i can't replicate and a real sparkle to it. it was really tasty on the pork.

in the end, some of my tasters liked Oakridge far better for flavor "explosion".

others liked HomeBBQ for it's superb accent to the pork.

for backyard, i'd go with Oakridge.

for comp. i liked Home.

Thanks for the rub comparison, boogiesnap. We really appreciate the time you took to review our rub. Thanks again for your business!

PS... our sponsored teams are over 105 top-ten calls in pro sanctioned contests in just the past 8 months of contests, and Secret Weapon is used by many of them as their go-to rub on both pork categories as well as chicken... Just sayin'.... :becky: :becky: :becky:

i read how well your rubs are doing...thus the desire to try.

i may have been a bit rash in my assesment, backyard VS. comp.

it is certainly an excellent product. i'd recommend highly.

it just didn't fit with what I was trying to do with my ribs in comps.

others, who i'm sure know better than i are doing something else, and winning with secret weapon.

now, as far as chicken goes....i have a new goto rub:thumb:

and possibly pork.

pr0n on that later.

It's all good. I probably should have just kept my mouth shut anyway. Sorry. Glad you liked the rub.
