...that would have me as a member.

Hi there!
I can't tell you all how happy I am to be posting on the forum. For two years, I've been googling this-or-that barbecue topic, geeking out over the various posts on the BBQB site, and dragging myself hours (days?) later, bleary-eyed, to bed...
Throughout that time, I was improvising with a 22" Weber Kettle and a great little McGuyver smoking kit (the smokenator). Great results but very needy.
Two weeks ago I upgraded to a 22" WSM. Tears literally rolled down my face on the first use.
My marriage has improved immeasurably.
About me: by day, a photographer based in NYC and eastern Long Island. By night, an amateur chef, woodworker, and brewer. Current summer projects include a vegetable garden, a golden retriever puppy, and (god willing) a wood fired masonry oven.
By any measure, I'm a novice at BBQ. I've taken a stab at the staples, but without really observing/capturing what works and what doesn't...the intricacies of the craft. But now that I own a real smoker, I aim to change that. I've stocked up on hickory, spices, beer, Lipitor, etc.
Anyway I'd just like to say a big THANK YOU to the webmasters and organizers of the site for making this thing work. I'm happy to be here.
