Blue Rhino has picked up distribution rights for Lokkii products and have made them available today Via Amazon.com (Amazon.com: Blue Rhino HDGL7-2 Lokkii Insta-Light 7.2-Pound Infrared Heat Diamonds Charcoal Bag: Patio, Lawn & Garden (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004XV26K4)). I picked up a 3lb bag, just in case they suck really bad, and should be delivered on tuesday.

So for anyone who is interested I will do a side by side review of the Lokkii diamonds vs lump charcoal using chicken (breast, thigh, leg), steak (New york strip, tenderloin, rib eye), burgers, brats, pork chops, king salmon and assorted veggies as the test materials.

Lots of pics and maybe video.

Your link doesn't work.

Quick Google search of a few blogs didn't turn up many positive reviews. It will be interesting to see what you think.

Amazon can be touchy sometimes:

Ok, Finally got around to doing the test last weekend (Been kinda busy). No pictures because I couldn't even finish my steaks, which were first on the grill. The Lokkii briquettes light very fast and for the first 10 minutes burn extremely hot, but as soon as the foot high flames go away so does the heat. You might be able to get a sear on your steaks or actually cook something if the grill grate was directly on the coals but on the lowest height setting for the grill grate we were getting 250F-300F and the actual coals were running about 600F. Using the exact same grill with lump charcoal with the grate on the highest height setting (a full 3" higher) we were getting 650F. To the credit of the Lokkii product, it did burn almost twice as long as the lump charcoal, I could see this product being perfect in a smoker if it wasn't for the cost. My verdict, save your money until the price comes way down.

Actually they didnt have any smell to them at all, which was kinda weird in itself.
