Quick question for those of you smoker builders. I picked up a defunked commercial refrigerator and started to inspect it and found it to be lined with plywood instead of insulation? Do I need to remove the plywood and replace with high temp insulation? Any insight would be great.

I would suspect that unless you plan on getting it super hot, the plywood might be ok. Cajun Microwaves get really hot and they are basically a wooden box with a sheet metal lining inside.

I have even heard of cardboard insulation being used with no issues.
