The RF project wasn't totally complete, but close enough to fire it off.

And I couldn't wait! Fired 'er up Memorial Day around 9:30 AM with charcoal and maple. Got the cook chamber up to 325, and closed the dampers down a bit. Never cooked on one of these, so winging it here. Got the temp down to the 235 zone and slid some ribs on:-D. The 2 back racks had Simply Marvelous sweet and spicy(I love this stuff!), the front rack had spicy apple. Cooked for three hours and then spritzed with AJ every half hour to around 5 hours. No foil, no sauce.

Ribs and collards, a simple dinner. Not a home run, got a lot to learn with this smoker, but for the first smoke, I ain't disappointed. Thanks for looking.

You should have built a UDS :-P

A nice plate of grub, what didn't quite meet your standards?

Have 3 UDS's:thumb:
I think that I overcooked the ribs, as they were a little on the dry side. Still ate 'em all tho!! Just gonna have to try again:-D, and again, and again...

And another smokin unit is born into the world. Great farkin job BlueTang! I remember when you started this one. I had to put mine off until next year so that my wife can have new wood floors and carpet...sigh...

But not to worry...it just gives me more time to come up with new design improvments! Great lookin meal bro!
