View Full Version : Rib Tips on Bulls UDS pron included

Well decided to give it a test run yesterday with a box of rib tips that needed to be cooked anyway. I didn't season the way I normally would. Usually use a rub that would be more sugar based...This was just something in cabinet. Going to find me a nice non sugar based rub(diabetes).

I will say the uds performed like magic!! Held 250 for 5 hrs no problems. Due to the thicker cuts of tips I treated them as regular ribs..Thinner pieces should have come off a little early..Did a 3,1,1 method to them. Used blue kingsford ,have a ton of it, and a little foil patch of apple wood. Will say that for my taste flavor was a little strong..Flavor did mellow overnight and actually was GOBBLED down tonite.. I'm going to experiment with a diffuser and see which way I like best...But these things are awesome!Few pics.

Will say to, these tips were fatty as hell!!!!!!!! I trimmed a ton off but what ever little dripped down, just not sure about the taste produced by it...Yeah, will try a diffuser next time probably.
