Went to the basement to get something for Mothers Day and something caught my eye! When I brought it up and asked Mrs. Ash she said oh we won that at a company Christmas party 17 years ago.:doh: Will will be married 20 the 18th of this month. This is way before I got involved in the thin blue. We have moved twice since then and I moved it every time and never remembered we had it... Please forgive me! Grace which born on date is just a little older and is giving me carp about it telling me I told you so..... So we are now adding Jet Black to the family. Welcome Jet Black!!!!!

Cool discovery, but I would keep it in the box for a Keepsake.

That is pretty cool, but I wasn't going to use it, I'd keep it in the box. Better yet, you could just use it for the super special occasions for you and the misses. It could truely become part of the family.

Nice score!

I bought a smokey joe last week because I'm seriously considering abandoning my gas grill. Most times when I'm grilling, its just for me and my girlfriend and that little grill will do the job. I think it might come in handy for tailgating also :)

I almost pulled out one I picked up on clearance about 5 years ago but, used a cast iron grill I got from CostPlus around the same time. It was easier to get to. The Smokey Joe was out of reach.

Yes seriously! We had been married about a year and a half when we bought our first house. It was a company Christmas Party for Mrs Ash's job and she thought it would be good for us to use. I guess she knew then that we were destine here. I am wanting to go back to the basement to she what else she is hiding but I am kinda skeered.

LOL actually there is some racing game that I won many moons ago that connects to a table and Windows 95 PC that I won at a trade show when Office 2000 was debuted. I won it and thought be a nice gift for the kids and forgot about it for awhile. But I did know it was down there....

Sweet find! I found a Smokey Joe a month ago when one of my neighbors decided to throw it away! At least they put it on top of their trash can when they put everything out for pick-up. I appreciated not having to root around in the trash for all of the pieces! I still need to clean her up, then get her dirty!

Great find.

My garage has so much stuff in it there has to be something good that I forgot about. Someday may be I'll clean it out and find out. Until then, it can stay a mess.

There's an "O" on there right?

Mine is "EE"...1999.

That makes sense! We were married in 1991! I think though it was 1992-93 that she won it! Which makes it older than I thought... Still a treasure!

It's an original heirloom. You can pass it on down the line!

Great find! I actually cooked my first butt on a smokey joe, man was that ever a pain in the arse. Thus, the beginning of my affliction.
