Well......errr.....I never washed my birds to get rid of pathogens, so that article seems a little silly to me. I just rise them with cold water to remove the slime and blood is all. Did they really think we were scrubbing down the brids with soap and water?

Of course I ALWAYS wash the sink, cutting board, counter, hands, etc., immediately after rubbing/trimming/prepping the birds. Once the bird's in the pan, rubbed and all, it's DISINFECT time. Whole process doesn't take much time anyway. I've got a good routine down.

Pretty much all the other stuff it a no brainer....

I don't go out of my way to wash any meat off. If I am in the sink already I may but I will just as quick take it right out of the package and stick it on the grill.

I never wash them. I don't see the point. Why would I wash the chicken off my chicken?

I love to eat chicken, but absolutely hate working with chicken!! My whole house smell like CLORAX after I'm done cooking!!

I don't wash them because it's really not accomplishing anything IMO. Anything 'bad' will be killed during the cook.

I do not use bleach, why put somthing on your food prep surfaces that will kill you. I use hydogen peroxide which is just as good as bleach at killing germs. Did you ever walk into a doctors office and smell clorine?

This brought to you by the same folks that told us Eggs where going to kill us tomorrow and then changed their mind. Perhaps they should just get a job instead of getting grants to pretend to be working doing research?
