Tim (Oakpit) and I decided it was a good day to throw something on the pit as entry into the current Throwdown, so we rolled to the store to pick up some leg qtrs.

Whaddaya know, Lowe's still had Stubb's on sale...

Started off with some brats and rib tips...

My entry consisted of a couple qtrs rubbed down with some Traeger's, never tried it before.

Also decided to throw on a couple racks of spares for good measure, one with Yardbird, the other with John Henry's Pecan.

These were some of the meatiest ribs I have had in a long while.

A little down time to work on a project, can anyone guess what it's gonna be

Most of the day was just filled with good conversation, and a lot of laughs. Cody is never far when it comes to hanging out with the guys...

Time to check in on dinner, looks good to me...

These turned out really nicely, very juicy due to the fat content. Not sure why, but beers always makes me want to eat ribs...

Rack #1

Here is how the TD entry turned out, very moist and tender. I liked the herbs and spices in the Traeger rub.

On to rack #2, we decided to go sauceless today...they were fantastic.

I'm guessing the project was to empty a bottle of Stella Artois!

Funny, I was also roasting a drum on Sunday. While I did that Marty was eating my share of a brisket sample (piece cut off to notch the flat across the grain). :tsk: No crime Marty, I know I just need to eat my share before bringing anything over. :-P

Sorry...... I thought you were giving those to me! You set them down, you know! If I drop something on the floor, my dog eats it. Same thing if you put brisket down and walk away. I eat it. They were real good if you had any question about it!

wow those look fantastic. I am a big fan of the John Henry rubs, have you used the Hot Pecan rub from JH? I can never find it and I am afraid they quit making it, I have never seen it on theirs or any website. Those ribs look perfect! Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Looking great, nice pictures too!

BTW, I was also drumming it in Livermore.
We had my brothers 30 GL uds going with Halibut and some thighs.

I wonder how many drums were lit just in Livermore?
