You know. If you guys didn't silently delete so many threads and posts and council people privately with PMs, but rather publiclly shame and put the smack down for all to see; then we might all have a a better clue how hard of a job you did and would appreciate you more.

I hope you know I'm just joking. I have a hard time understanding the amount of work that the mods do. But I know from experience on a few other forums how valuable good mods are and have come to appreciate well moderated forums. I think the fact that this place is so popular, but your guy's work goes largely unnoticed speaks to how well you do your jobs. So, thanks. :thumb:

I'm not ashamed to say that I had a post moderated and moved and I will say it was done by P.M. first in a very professional way. Moderator said what he had to, I agreed and just moved on. No hard feelings at all. Keep up the good (hard) work it's a great site that can just as easily disappear tomorrow. Don't believe me go to the PigTrip .com site and you'll see.

I have not been a on this site long but I have found it to be the best BBQ site on the net!! I would like to thank all the moderators and people who are responsible for this site and keeping it a great and friendly environment.

I have found more help and information here in a couple of months then I have with all the other sites in years. Please feel free to let me know if I am doing wrong and I will respect your decisions as I know you all have a tough job trying to keep all these different personality types under control!!!

It is not our way to discuss specific people or issues, thereby continuing the problem or even making it worse. Rather, we deal with it, inform the guilty party or parties in private, delete it and move on. Obviously someone or some folks are breaking the rules and or pushing the envelope. Bob is just warning you so you don't join in or continue. It is our friendly way of saying stop.

Now if you ever see the Grand Poobah posting in red, a more serious infraction has occurred and heads will fall. Mods post warnings in green, and sometimes we senior members post in purple. The colors are important and should be observed.

what in the heck are you guys doing to get moderated?

i was moderated once on a music forum for starting a 'fat boys appreciation' thread. apparently, the fat boys aren't serious enough music for that particular forum.

much appreciation to the mods. i don't know how or why you guys do it. it's obviously not thankless, but it sure must be a time eater.
