In the BBQ Sushi thread I posted a day or two ago we made some pastrami sushi rolls. I had plenty of pastrami leftover and since I took the time to smoke it I figured I might as well come up with something good to eat...

How about a little pulled pastrami?

Pulled Pastrami, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and 1,000 Island Dressing makes a Reuben...

My son came home for lunch so I didn't get to pick, he took the Rachel.

Outstanding. The Reuben is my favorite sandwich I think, but I'm going to have to try the Rachel now.

Tough call. But I'd always choose Rachael - I'm a confirmed sucker for coleslaw. Good looking sammies Larry!

They look awesome! But, I always thought a Rachel was made with turkey.

In some parts of the country a Rachel is made with Turkey. In other parts of the country the turkey version is called a Georgia Reuben or Southern Reuben.

It's a regional thing I guess. A little internet search shows that Rachel can be a tad fickle on her ingredients.

Looks fantastic, especially with the pickles and fritos.
Looks like some nice tile there, btw.

In this case, and in this case only, I'd go either way :becky:

But... Rye bread. Not buns. :-D

1. I would have used Rye bread but...

2. I was going for a more traditional "pulled" meat sandwich. Believe me I tried to find rye buns of some type but didn't have any success.

Yum. A good Rueben is my favorite sandwich in the whole world!

Oh man, those look great. I've had more than my share of great Reubens and Rachels at Karshon's Deli in Fort Worth.

IMO - It's Rachel by a nose!

Mouth watering as I type this. Hubby would be all over the Reuben, but I am leaning toward the Rachel.

I'd definitely go for Rachel :thumb:

Reuben, been going to one restaurant for 35 years and on the whole menu for those 35 years I have never ordered anything but. So Reuben it has to be.

Love a good Reuben and have never tried, let alone heard of a Rachel- Well I guess I know what I have to do now.
