I remember our fist comp. We had done the back-yard practice thing, but I can still remember Sat morning sitting down on a cooler and thinking - I have no idea what to do right now. Ha ha, well that was a long time ago and we got 5th in chicken so we were hooked.
The important thing is to enjoy and have fun - that's what it's all about. Meet your neighbors, build an amazing network of friends, share (some of) what you learn, and get involved with charitable BBQ events too. It's amazing the doors that open and give back to you.
