FROM THE HOME OFFICE OF THE SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND KOSHER BBQ CHAMPIONSHIP & CRAFT FAIR LOCATED IN THE RUSTY METAL STORAGE LOCKER IN THE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE SYNAGOGUE
CALLING ALL WEBER FANS.....The Southern New England Kosher BBQ Championship & Craft Festival will take place on August 30, 2015 on the ground of Congregation Beth El in Fairfield, CT. We are a sanctioned KCBS event and the Largest Kosher BBQ Competition in the Northeastern United States. What makes us unique and different (besides being Kosher) is that every team is supplied with and competes on 2 - 22.5" Weber Kettles that we provide for each team. We also provide all the proteins (kosher, of course) utensils, pots, pans and just about anything else a team needs to compete. Teams may bring their own spices and rubs as long as they are sealed in a new bottle and they are kosher, vegetables and favorite lump charcoal and wood. Its a level playing field and the competition is fierce. Last year 18 teams competed for top honors. This year, we are expecting 25 teams from across the country. The Grand Prize is free entry ($450) to our event in 2016.
4 Categories will be judged by the KCBS reps:
Chicken
Beef Ribs
Beans
Brisket
Finally, each team will have the ability to compete for the "Marvin Rembo People's Choice Award" This prestigious award is for the team with the Best Name, Booth Decorations and general popularity with the crowd. A great cast of "Celebrity Judges" will be walking around to decide who wins this award. BBQ Team applications and rules are available on our website www.snekosherbbq.org Don't miss out on the fun.
