Team of the Year Points Question

Do contests like the Sam's Club, American Royal, Other Invitationals count towards TOY points? I can't locate anything on the KCBS page to say one way or the other. Thanks.

Invitationals do not count while open contests do count.

The Sam's Club locals do count for TOY points because they are not invitationals, Sam's Club Regionals and finals do not because they only invite the top 6 teams from each region.

The AR open does count while the AR Invitational does not.

Actually, I believe Sam's Club National BBQ Series and American Royal Invitational were given exceptions and the points do count towards KCBS ToY.

I hear the current BoD doesn't want to extend that exception to other invitationals which doesn't make any sense to me.
