Smokin' At The Run Shootout in Miami, OK is submitting to be sanctioned this week as a twin contest on March 14-15 in a shootout style and then another single contest on Sat/Sun March 15-16
In a nutshell, the shootout will be sanctioned as two separate contests held at the same location but separate turn-ins, judges, reps, etc.
120 team max and the teams will be divided up and assigned which "Flight"/Contest they will turn in to at the team meeting by means of a live draw. $10k in prize money in each Flight 10 places in each category and overall to be paid, and another $5k awarded to the highest scoring winner in each of the four categories as well as the top overall point winner this the winners of the Shootout.
The Sunday contest will be the 2nd Annual Smokin' At The Run $10k contest with no limit on teams entered.
This gives everyone a chance to cook two 50 point contests in one weekend with one being a 60 team max contest.
I think it is a great way to knock off the rust and have a second day to tweak or tune without having to wait another week and go to another location to cook again.
This contest will be held on a asphalt parking lot with at least 20amp electric well lit and the amenities of the casino near by.
