Hey all, I found this grill in wife wife’s grandfather’s lean to. I immediately recognized it but didn’t recognize the lid imprinting, other than the name. I ordered some new accessories from the PK folks and they almost fit, but not quite. Anyone know what I’ve got here? Thanks!!

Oh wow. Is there any sort of antique reason I should not use it? Although I’m not sure how to get a grate and stand for it since the current company’s original accessories have slightly different dimensions since moving to Little Rock.

Reach out to the burn shop on Facebook. They make custom grates for PKs.

holy cow! I was worried it was some sort of knock off. It's in really good shape. I wish I could find a picture of an original to see if things like my handle is still the same. All I need is a stand, grate, and bottom air damper and I'll be cooking like it's 1955! lol

I'd reach out to PK and show them what you have. They might be able to help you...

I'm pretty excited about it, especially now that I'm finding out what I really have. Unfortunately, PK wasn't able to help me. they said I should reach out to a fb group or a fab shop. I"m guessing there's not much connection with the current company and they pre-1960 company. But the good news is the grills is in good shape as far as I can tell, just needs a few little things here and there.

Well, in their defense, there are not enough of these old ones in use to justify them keeping parts for a 60-year-old design. What's wrong with the grates and stand you have now? Can't see the grates, but the stand looks fine and original.

Did you ask PK if they might have the specs for the original grates? I'd think they would. Shouldn't cost that much to get them made.

Never thought about old dimensions. Here’s where it doesn’t quite fit. And I found what was a small crack that looks like it was welded

I asked the Burn Shop about it and this was their response.

"I can make one if given the longest length and longest width and a picture of the PK with the lid open".

From the picture, I might be tempted to grind down the inside of the tub a bit rather than invest in a custom fabrication. Just enough that it would not keep the lid from a tight fit.

There's also a FB group about PK grills that is quite active. You might could ask there and see if anyone has ideas or experience.
