MOINK ball calzone

Awesome creation! I'm still thinking on this one.
Italian roomate in college never stopped talking about this type of thing.
Calzone=sauce on the side
Stromboli=sauce inside rolled crust

My mom's side of the family is Italian, and our distinction was always that calzones have ricotta cheese in them, whereas stromboli is just mozzarella. Guess it differs depending on who you talk to!

gsmith beat me to it, Ricotta goes in a calzone, which is why I prefer the stromboli over the calzone. Best stromboli in my neck of the woods is at Antonio's Pizza House at College Ave. and W. Chestnut St. in Lancaster PA. The best one is the simplest, cheese and ham inside, sauce on the side. Their dough recipe kills.

The more I learn the less this resembles anything Italian, especially since the cheese in this thing was a Mexican blend that I happened to have on hand.

MOINK hot pocket, anyone? :doh:
