Made a spatchcock chicken and some beef meatballs on indirect heat on the old 18" Weber kettle.

I'm digging the Kingsford Comp briquettes I picked up at Costco - virtually no sparking and less ash than Royal Oak, very nutural flavor and put a nice color on the meat.

Nice!!

I don't usually use Kingsford but when I do it's Kingsford Comp.

Those look great!

+1 on the K Comp briquettes. I hate the regular Kingsford, but the Comp or Pro or whatever it's called now is surprisingly ok, if you can get a good price on it.

My only complaint is that it burns up pretty fast, and doesn't seem to respond to reduced airflow, so it's not great for longer cooks.
