Went to a good friend's place for his traditional July 4 weekend event yesterday. Brisket, whole hog (230 lbs.) and some good live music; band played a lot of what we grew up on; Doobie Bros, Credence, Eagles, and many more. Hog cooked in a traditional pit with hickory burned down to coals and shoveled under the hog all night. It was delicious. Briskets were cooked central Texas style in a Texas pit he had brought in just for brisket cooking. Good times!
