I'd HIGHLY recommend getting one.
Here's the one I use. I mainly use it to "panini" various things wrapped in flour tortilla so I can take them to work for lunches. The panini part of it make it a one handed "clean" operation when eating. Like a "hot pocket", but better.
With this unit, you'd have to buy the waffle plates separate:

That is the same one we have and we got the waffle plates as an xmas gift to ourselves. I love how easy it is to clean. We had one of the All-clad ones that was twice the price, but cleaning was a royal pain in the arse.
