Good ol Wood

Just moved out to Florida, was curious where does everyone buy there wood from, and what species of wood they have found consistently out here.

I'm in N.E. Florida and when I need wood I just look in craigslist. Another option is facebook marketplace. Various types of oak including blackjack oak are plentiful. Other types are hickory, pecan, cherry and maple.

Oh that's interesting would not have thought of looking on there (not a FB user) perhaps I will have to become one. Will check out craigslist first

I know this sounds strange but you should be able to get your hands on some Australian Pine (Ironwood). Nice light smoke and no sap like you might be thinking.
Just make sure your sawblade is sharp, it is extremely hard.
