Bixby bbq and blues festival

Is anyone else here planning on competing in the Bixby bbq and blues festival this year? I got an email saying it is going to be on May 1st and 2nd this year. My cousin and I competed in it last year and it was our first comp. We plan on doing it again this year.

We learned a lot last year, mostly the hard way. We are going to be bringing some different smokers with us this year and going to be going about everything differently. My cousin entered ribs last year and got 40 something I believe. Not terrible for his 1st comp cook. We about froze to death out there last year.

I just got an email saying my lonestargrillz vertical cabinet smoker is going to be done next week. I will be trying that thing out for the next few weeks and hope to have it dialed in by may.
