Looks good. My 2 cents would to load the smoker more centered to protect it from tipping for sharp turns. Also add a rail or chock system (I'd worry about it moving forward if you had to stop quick). Looking forward to the finished picks of both.

The smoker is off center to the right but its not even above the wheels.
The wheels are pretty wide, almost 8", and the smoker is gonna be strapped down with 3 heavy duty straps.
I already planned some sort of locking system , though.
On the other side, i´ll have a char griller outlaw + sfb and a box for wood and charcoal, wich makes a pretty good counterweight.

Have any of your friends asked you to build one for them yet?

How much for you to build one and deliver it to my brother-in-law in Berlin?

Sorry, im way too busy to build and sell a smoker.

How about a char griller for your brother in law ?
They are available in germany, i can help your brother in law to buy one.

Great Job! Did you put a drain into the bottom of the main chamber?

If so, I missed it looking at your photos.

I was joking anyway.

I know they are, I was actually thinking about getting him or my father-in-law one, but I'm not sure they would ever use it. Maybe as a grill.

But it would be good for one of them to have so I would be able to make some German-American Q whenever I visit.

Sorry I did not say so before, but like everyone else has said, fantastic looking pit. You should tell Klose that you want to open up and run a German location.

Great looking pit, DM, I also wish that I could build something anywhere that cool. If it cooks half as good as it looks, then ya got yoreself a winner there, brother:biggrin:.

He blasted and painted the chrome spring handles.
I had those beatiful handles shipped over the pond from texas and that *insertreallybadwordhere* painted em black :icon_smil

I couldnt be surprised if the whole smoker would be painted pink when i pick it up next week.

That's really too bad!

Did you give the *insertreallybadwordhere* explicit instructions to NOT paint the handles?

On the other hand, if that's the worst thing that happens to your cooker, it still looks awesome!

By the way, to answer your question and subsequent prompt again later, the grills in my cooking chamber are at about 34 inches from the ground. That's about 86 centimeters. You are in Germany, after all.

That truly sucks - Having had similar issues with painters I learned an improtant lesson - Send nothing to the paint shop you don't want painted. Whenever I have a project like this i always remove hardware. Also keeps it from getting "lost"
