Anyone who's watched "The Chef Show" on Netflix will know Roy Choi.
I was that impressed with how he "owns" his part in the show that I got his book from Amazon and consequently had to make these "Kalbi" Ribs.
Incidentally, his book is as much about his life as it is about the recipes. Its' an amazing book.
So, I went to my local Korean Shop and had them cut me some ribs. All up I got about 8 pounds.
Followed the recipe with the marinade and fridged for 2 days before putting them on my little Korean fry plate.
Looking good! Yes I know they'd be better on charcoal. I might do that later, but for now...
Also made some "Splash" (Page 121)
Sort of plated :heh:
Money Shot:
Man they were good. For a Wednesday night the only thing that was missing was Beer. Honestly, you can just cook these up a few at a time and drink beer and shoot the sh!t with friends all night. Sadly I was alone, but they will be on a party menu soon!
Cheers!
