Brother Moose gave me two marinades a few weeks ago to try. Not knowing which one to try first I gave both of them a go. Needless to say I loved them both. It's rare that I like something out of a bottle but these were excellent and if you're in a bind it's a plus as you just toss some meat in the marinades for a few minutes and straight onto the grill. Perfect for weeknights.

First, Carolina Treet, which he said that GTR turned him onto. Thanks Greg! Now I'm hooked on this stuff after just one cook. :becky: I love this stuff since it doesn't have sugar. So, reading the ingredient list I automatically thought that this marinade/sauce will be perfect for chicken tacos.

Boneless, skinless chicken thighs, seasoned with Loot N Booty Gold Star Chicken and marinated in Carolina Treet

Picked up this beautiful tri tip for the second marinade

Since the tri tip was a hefty almost 3.5lbs I decided to split in half. First half seasoned with BPS Little Louie's

Second half with this Basque Norte marinade that Moose gave me

In the meantime a quick salsa

Next the Basque Norte tri tip half. Stuff smelled amazing and not overwhelming compared to other quick marinades

Thanks for looking!

Wow Sako!

I'd love to find tri-tip around here especially at 3.99#!

Looks mighty fine there neighbor!

I'll have to look for those marinades around here and give it a try.

Glad you liked the goodies, Sako! That Carolina Treet is the bomb on skin on cut up chicken pieces.

Great looking tacos, Sako! Yup, Basque Norte marinade originated in a little restaurant just a few miles up the Esplanade where I grew up in Chico.

Yup, now they carry the big bottles in Costco and if you can’t find it there, it’s on Amazon but substantially pricier. Also outstanding with chicken and I bet lamb too.

Awesome cook there, Sako!

I'm slackin' here. Don't think I've done a tri-tip this year.

Thanks Richard! Def the next cook. I'm digging this stuff for sure. Love the flavor profile and it caters to our style of cooking

Some fine looking tacos there.

Thanks for sharing the tutorial pictures with us Sako

The Carolina Treet cooking sauce is awesome, Brother Carter K gifted me some in a trade round several years ago. It's has been a staple in my cabinet ever since. Also makes a great dipping sauce if you heat it up until it changes color.

Thank you MM!

I bet. It's definitely going to be in by cabinet as well. I already see myself using this with pork as well. :clap2:

Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing DD! I thought I've seen it somewhere but never really gave it a close look. Stuff is great plus it's mellow than other "beef" marinades.

Thanks Charles! You've been coming here long enough and I know you'll nail it for sure. :thumb:

Looks fantastic, Neighbor! I'm a huge fan of Carolina Treet. Brethren Greg introduced me to it too.
Way to go Moose! :cool::-D

As always, another great inspiring cook, Sako. Also, based on your recommendation, the Loot N Booty Gold Star Chicken rub is the best I have ever tasted for chicken. Thanks!
