Since I'm local I try to get there right after it starts getting light out. End time is as it gets dark. Glad that you guys are able to make it.

I am going to try to make it and bring a friend. Will probably camp.
What time is start/end?
vicdog I signed you up as a maybe. Like Paul, we will be there pretty much all day long. Grab your friend and come on out, I know you will have a great time.
If camping there is a great RV park just on the other side of the Dam.
It is LIVE OAK RIDGE. Below is the link to the web page. Don't hesitate, they go fast!!

Hope to see you there!!

Have there been any recent bashes in the Tri-State area (NY/NJ/PA)?
I don't recall any. Someone tried to get one going but did not get much traction.
But don't let that stop you from getting one going in your area. All it takes to start a Bash is a couple of Brethren showing up somewhere and start cooking. Pick a date and location then put the call out. Post the pics and next year more will attend. It takes a bit of time to grow. But you will have a lot of fun as it does.
I can honestly say Shelly and I have met a lot of new friends and great people at the Bashes we have participated in.
So get off the couch and get yours started!

Just a heads up that today I was contacted by a few of my Egghead friends and they are coming to the Bash!
Who else is going to be there?

Hotch, just want to thank you again for spreading the news to your Egghead friends.

We had 5 people at our first one. There was a 10 year long thread about a Texas Bash but never happened so I reserved the Pavillion at a State Park on a local Lake and posted a thread on it. At the first one we decided every 6 months sounded right. 2nd had about 12-15 people and the 3rd one was our Biggest with about 35-40 counting kids. So check out some parks and dates and post a thread if anyone is interested and go from there.

You do realize that the2017 Texas BBQ Brethren Fall Bash will be here in no time!! We have already started working on what to cook on my new Shirley. Shelly wants to do some items other than big proteins. So this may get interesting!!
I know Smitty will have his now famous meatloaf, Springram will be bring those killer beans. I will have a selection of sausages and hot links. Possibly a few other items. Plenty of room for your stuff in needed. Kelley and Bruce I think will have a few Pineapple Gems.

What are you planing to cook or bring to the Bash?

Brethren Bash (from Austin)

Me (Stover) and Yoni, who live in Austin, really want to make it! It sounds like a blast. I haven't been to a Bash before, but everyone here seems so welcoming that I'm sure it'll be fun. We started hosting a BBQ podcast (Best Barbecue) a few months back, so it'd also be cool to give a shout-out to the Brethren and highlight the community in an episode. I bet the spread is going to be amazing.

 127 Days till the 2017 Texas BBQ Brethren Fall Bash

Lets all reach out to any of the Brethren in Central Texas and send them an invite. We had a couple of Houston boys come up before. And like I was saying, it would sure be nice to have the Austin and San Antonio Brethren attend.

WOW only 60 Days till the Bash! Man does time fly by quickly!
So do you know what you are going to cook or bring to the Bash!
How many are bringing your family and friends to experience a BBQ Brethren Bash this year?

Shelly is working on a few things that are not big proteins she wants to cook on Miss Shirley 42. A few sound like baking. We hope to setup early on Saturday morning so that means sliding billy will need to be there with a pot of coffee going! And remember it will be his son's birthday! So we will also have his birthday to celebrate. I'm up for some cake and ice cream! :thumb:

Please remember to sign up on the Link in my signature line so we can get a head count and plan for the Bash!! Any questions just ask.

Hope to see you there!!

I'm thinking of picking up some tiny prime briskets for me and smitty to cook. Maybe this way they will get done before everyone leaves. I'm thinking 8-10 pounds.
