I'm very lucky to have such a good friend and great pitmaster making the Q for the party. Now if he could only bring the sun with him later and get rid of the rain...

And don't worry Shagdog will at the least get some beer for doing this cook. Maybe some Icehouse Light. LOL hahahahahaha

I remember being broke and in my 20s before i could afford good beer they had 22s of icehouse and reddog for a buck. Id say i had fond memories of those days but thise memories are a bit fuzzy.

Congratulations to your grad, you must have done something right. You all enjoy the day now.

I drained a few red dogs and icehouse in my day for sure. I remember back then those were considered "strong" beers! Now you can get beer 2-3x as strong as that, and they don't taste like pee

I don't technically know what pee tastes like, but I'm assuming it's pretty close to icehouse

The Hawks game will be on and Shagdog you're always on the guest list. Depsite the cloudy weather it should be a good time with great Q and plenty of drink.
No kidding I will be bagging some briskie and hiding it the frig for later. I know we probably won't have too many or any leftovers. These guests don't know what they are in for with Shagdog's cooking. I am sure they will be blown away!
Also, thanks to everyone for the congrats.

Checked temps just to get a general idea of where we're at... Butts are at 180, briskets 160.. Butts are on top shelf under the stack so I would assume it's a bit hotter there. Anyways, I gave her the spurs and added an extra split, kicked it up from 280's to 315-325. Everything should be right on time..

I've never monitored temps on this thing before with the maverick. It's interesting. With that insulated box it's super responsive. Throw in a split, temp jumps within 2 minutes.

Did you catch a wink at any point? Or just spent time with Shirley all night? These threads are making me obsess over getting my order figured out and my down payment in.

Yea, I napped a bit. Add a big oak split, set my phone timer for 45 minutes, get up, add a split, nap for 45.. Did that from 2:45 - 7ish
