Never assume that what comes out of their mouths is direct and to the point.
Confused, Dear Reader?
I started this Cautionary Tale of my Christmas Cook over in The WoodPile....
Go ahead and check it out Here, we'll wait on you to catch up...

Finished? Good then I'll start the cook thread......

As always, I like to include the obligatory shot of the Drumpit....I Love That Thing!!!!

Anyways, as I said in the other thread, The Weather Magi are predicting
the possibility of Snowy Conditions tomorrow and I thought to get a jump
on my Christmas cook today and not have to fight the cold like last year...

I ended up with the Flu and was miserable for weeks.....

But that's neither here nor there....onward with today's cook....
Christmas MeatBalls!!!!!!
I got a recipe off'n the interweb earlier this year entitled "100 year old Meatball Recipe" tweaked it some and really enjoy it....It's a keeper..

And I managed to slip in about 75 Turds...Since becoming a Brethren, It's Not Been Christmas Unless I Have Turds.....
Christmas_Turds1.jpg

You can't really tell from this shot but there are three loaded cooking
grates in the DrumPit.....Did I mention How I Love That Thing?
Christmas_Turds2.jpg

I'm using Black Cherry Wood Chunks with Kingsford Charcoal....
It Smells Wonderful In My BackYard!!!!!
I got everything done in less than three hours....Temp was
running about 250* and the Kielbasa was done in an Hours Time...

It is here that I have to relay a tale of woe....It was so young and had it's life well ahead of it...There were no outward signs of distress, no one thing I could put my finger on as to the cause....
As I was removing it from the cooking grate to be with it's Friends, I felt
it violently jerk away from my grasp and I stood dumbfounded and helpless as I watched it take the deadly plunge to the dirt and grass so far below......
Christmas_Meatball_Suicide1.jpg

I actually openly wept as I took the Photo, So Young, A Senseless Loss.....
I almost can't go on..............But I Bravely will......
Tomorrows Supper......We Will Mourn the Departed.....
Christmas_Meatballs4.jpg

Turds were next to be done....MMMMMMMMTurds......

No Shot Of The Fatties....Battery Crapped out and I got it charging.....
Maybe Santy will put one in my Stocking......

Thanx For Checking Out My Pix....Hope to have some more later.....

I am very sorry for your loss, N8! Something should be done about the rash of meatball suicides around here!

Great looking food!

The food looks great N8!

After carefully studying this case, and the prior meatballicide, I am starting to see a pattern. In both cases, there was no spaghetti. Coincidence? I think not.

They say the suicide rate for meatballs is the highest during the Christmas season. I'm so sorry for your loss.

And happy that no bacon from the ABTs was involve... :thumb:

Thanks for the recipe. Going to be trying these out this weekend. Pardon my ignorance, but what exactly are these turds you speak of?

N8, I'm sorry to hear that you not more careful with your balls of meat  as you warm them. One would think you could have invoked the "3 second rule" rescued the lad, given him some ambulatory care by rinsing in a high concentration of "spirits" and then downed him like a raw oyster.................just sayin.
Oh yeah, the food looks great and Thanks for the recipe and sharin. :thumb:

Nice job on the meatballs! I have to say that milk was a surprise ingredient! I may have to give that a try.

Happy New Year!
