Figured I'd better post this fast before Bo uses his time machine again and steals my food! The full thread is here:

The peanuts were roasted on a Primo Oval and the bread was baked in the Oval also, as discussed in the above link. Hope you like creamy, 'cause that's what Ninja Squirrel likes:

I think this can be the throwdown pic:

[My wife walks by the computer]

Me: Hey honey, look at this great loaf of bread and homemade peanut butter Gore made.

[Throwdown discussion ensues, explanation of 'root' throwdown follows]

Her: [incredulously] Well of course peanuts are a root vegetable

Me: Yes, honey.

Her: What's with the racoon?!

Good job Gore.

I'll keep this discussion from Ninja Squirrel. No telling what he might do ... farkin' racoons!

Is everyone too intimidated by Ninja Squirrel to submit anything?

Fear the Squirrel!

Since the eggplant is picked from above ground, and not dug up, then no, it would not be allowed.
Thanks bro, I just need that to clear up.

:) Too bad my onions were not the prominent factor in my dish.

Fear the stuffed racoon, more like it.....LOL...:becky:

How bout an order of Haggis with "neeps and tatties"...naw, I'd never get a vote fer that either...:becky:

French Onion Soup and Carrot Cake comes to mind?

Don't try knock it till you tried it bro.

Gore, although that is a beautiful bread and peanut butter that Ninja Squirrel concocted, I shall not allow it to go unchallenged! Now just need to find the time to challenge it,

Oh, lol.

It's a weird taste, not sure how to explain it.

Next I want to try rocky mountain oysters.
Should be a fun adventure.

Hey Derek, I've had Haggis many times..not sure about eating bullsnutz though...put Cod Tongues & Seal Flipper Pie on your list too..I guess that I have eaten those I could muster up enough gumption to try the bulls gonads..maybe....:thumb:

Only if I don't have to go to another country for them, I'll try them ( Call me Andrew zimmerman wanna be )

I try everything once, if I don't like then I don't have to eat it, You know what I'm saying?

Wouldn't say it's weird. It's a peppery sausage and VERY good. Unfortunately, they're banned in the US for some arbitrary reason, so we can only get mock haggis. Southern Smoker, I take it you can get these in Newfoundland? That's a good reason for a road trip! I'd definitely consider voting for haggis, but it all depends on the other entries. Incidentally, it would qualify in the next throwdown!

You can't tease us like that :mad2:

So, ... I thought I'd make an Alsatian tart. These are really good for an appetizer. I roll out the puff pastry and make a crust. I then spread cooked onions over the top. The onions are sliced and boiled first in chicken broth. I add a bit of cream also and pepper the top.

I bake these in the Oval like a pizza (loaf of bread is optional):

Sometimes I add bacon or prosciutto to the top:

But then I thought, Naw, I don't want to make that. I'd rather bake a carrot cake instead!

So, I grated some carrots,

IMG_5591.jpg

Mixed up some cake batter. People put all sorts of things in carrot cakes. I settled for coconut and pineapple.

IMG_5592.jpg

Dusted and prepped my cake pans. I put insulators on these pans so the cake cooks more level.

IMG_5594.jpg

Poured in my batter

and baked these on my Oval at 350* for about 40 minutes:

Of course I made a cream cheese w/white chocolate frosting

I love carrot cake

Take the last picture, please.

Sorry to keep you waiting Ninja Squirrel, ... and there's no nuts.
