Military Discounts on BBQ items at Lowes

Moderator feel free to move this if it needs to be moved.

I may be the only one on this forum that did not know that Lowes offers all Military Personnel 10% discount on products in theirt stores. All you need is your Military ID or your VA card if you are a veteran. Just saved $20.00 on a purchase with my VA Card.

I dont have a VA card, all I have is a DD-214, will that work ??

I bet it will Mike, they told me all you needed was a Military ID but then a DD-214 does not have your picture on it. Do you have a local VA outlet close by? If so they will give you a VA card, it only takes a minute to get your picture made and then they will send you the card.

Just found this out last week, and I've been a member of the VFW for 2 or 3 years now. I was told it used to just be on Veterans day and Memorial day, but has been extended to every day

Woulda saved me a bundle over the past couple of years had I known

Oh well, good to know going forward. I was told a VFW ID card would work. I imagine an American legion ID would work as well, but not sure...

Home Depot has a 200 dollar max discount

Some links that might help...Looks like a DD-214 should do the trick. I remember when I was getting out they stressed how important that doc was....have never had occaision to use it...at least not yet

I found that out when I bought a fridge the other day 10% , need to be active or retire. Anymore my wife asked anywhere we shop, it supriseing how many place offer these discounts. BTW I didn't know they take the va card that good to know

I carry retired "Dept of the Army" (civil service) ID.
Even that works just fine.

I use mine at both stores HD and Lowes, except ((Menards

)) they don't honor it. Should’ve known since most of their stuffs made in china

Apple B's gives free meals on Veterns day. I am retired Navy, all three of my kids were in other branches. My Daughter lives with us while going to school, so we go for our meal on that day. They used to ask for ID but don't even ask anymore.
