We have two. One supplies all the charcoal and our local butcher supplys all the meat and the some. Free advertising equals a tax write off for them. We put there names on our banner. As for getting them on board we just went and asked.

I thought I'd add this in.
2 Years ago we landed Dr Pepper (regional, not national) as a sponsor as they were launching the new Cherry Dr Pepper. We worked up a tomato-base sauce that featured the beverage and entered it as part of our arrangement with them. It finished a little better than mid-pack unfortunately, but they were very pleased with it. Little things like that can prove to be great "value added" things to offer your sponsors in exchange for the operating cash you need for an event. It's always good to play to your strengths and to consider what you think they might be looking for out of the event.
