Default 15 bean soup

I made up two batches of this soup. (found in bean section of grocery). First batch, I used ham bone from Christmas ham and some cubed up ham. Second batch, I grilled 4 homemade fresh kielbasa , then sliced and added to soup at the end. I think I like the sausage better but both hit the spot on a cold winter's day.
Careful with open flames around me though

Ooooo! Thanks Mike! We're gonna be making some, or beans, tomorrow. That pic just convinced me to try the soup first.

I love the 15 bean soup everytime I do a ham I make 15 bean soup or split pea. If I just make it its 15 bean soup if I ask the wife what she wants she says split pea cus she don`t like sleeping on the couch . bmanMA you can find the 15 bean soup mix in the same area they have split peas in your store try it you`ll love it.

Baby lima beans
Black beans
Black eyed peas
Brown lentils
Cranberry beans
Great northern beans
Green lentils
Green split peas
Kidney beans
Large lima beans
Navy beans
Pinto beans
Red beans
Red lentils
Yellow split peas

Or whatever you can find, it doesn't have to be all 15. We will be making some tomorrow (not using the spice pack that comes with it) but we will be using the stock that we made using the pork bone from the leg we smoked for Christmas dinner then adding canned, fire roasted tomatoes, onion, celery, diced smoked pork and herbs and spices. Can't wait!

Smoked pork hocks go good in that as well, you can even go smoked turkey necks/tails/wings like you do with greens.

I've found that a whole bag of Ham Beens is way too much for my crock pot so I end up splitting the bag. Made a batch yesterday and added some of the bacon ends we just cured/smoked along with the bone from the Christmas ham. A can of R0-Tel, Cajun Power Garlic sauce, onion, carrots, garlic, celery, served over white rice.!
