Christmas Lunch (warning: lots of pics)
My turn to cook Christmas lunch for the family this year.
Started yesterday afternoon, chickens on the kettle.  Started again at 0700 this morning   Put the turkey on, turned out a little darker than I hoped but was still nice and tender inside. Not bad for my first shot at turkey.  4 sheets of ribs cooked low 'n' slow.  Once everything was ready, we started with entrée of Prawns or Satay Chicken   Then onto mains   The perfect plate, lots of meat!   Finished with fruit cake, sliced peaches and vanilla custard.  This is the first Christmas that I have had off from work in 5 years, it was really nice to have the family around today. All this was followed by the traditional after Christmas lunch snooze!  For anyone who is interested, everything was 100% gluten / wheat free. Hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas! |
