Default 23 yr old RedHead

My friend Fo Sizzle hooked me up with this 1990 One Touch Plus from CL for $30.00. Included a bag of kingsford mesquite and a chimney.

She looked good prior to any cleanup work.

Handles were cracked and she was missing the ash pan and thermometer. I removed the handles, glued and clamped to fix the large cracks. Then sanded, stained and sealed them. Still look a little rough.

The triangle and wheels are the best looking of all my Weber's.

I decided to borrow the old school ash can, thermometer and vent handle from my 1995 Blue Performer and convert her into a 1990 Master Touch.

I like the old school ash can with the red logo:

Here's the M code vent with the plastic handle. She is ready for some cooking action this weekend after the May snowfall melts.

There is significant dent under one handle attachment point. I my try a robber mallet to see if I can pop the dent out. Also thinking of masking off and painting that same spot if I can get the dent to pop out. Not sure if the heat will turn the new paint brown and look worse than the original battle scar.

Not a bad deal for $30.00. Thanks again to Fo Sizzle for the hook up.

Cheers and Beers,
Tracy

As far as the dent in the lid - If you invert the lid and set it in a 5 gallon pail with the dent in the center, it might pop out just by putting some of your weight on it.

Nice score for $30.

I once had a 23 year old Redhead....probably too old to handle one now but it sure would be fun trying.

Awesome looking redhead! Never had one myself, I'm more of a blonde guy.

Search for Brian O'Neal on Google and his handles if you want some new ones! I bought some from him for my mini WSM and my Performer. They look great and are made well too. There is another guy on here that makes some nice looking ones too, but I can only attest to Brian's personally.

I tried this and I was able to fix the dent for the most part. However,
when I flipped the lid back over, some more of the enamel is flaking off.
I can see more of it flaking off in time. I did just cook on it the grill. Hope the heat fused some of the cracked pieces back together.
