I met some of the folks from Purple Turtle at the Royal, Congrats to them. Looks like Pellet Envy did a lot better at the Jack than at the Royal, Rod is a former customer of mine, I'm glad KC was represented well.

well, we didn't show up on any top 10 lists.....our highest placing was in pork at 25th......40th overall out of 63.....some may say that's a bad showing but we're pretty happy with it considering the teams we were cooking with and it's only our 2nd season.....just being there was enough for me! :)

Second season and an invitation to the Jack -- I think I hate you!

We can't even get a second cookoff since the hurricanes smacked up a lot of the venues so we're just going to reload for 2005!

Congrats on making the Jack and on your respectible finish - I'm just hoping we can snag an invite in the next couple of years. :D

Thanks guys! i was so happy just to be there that i didn't care what happened! lol The really nice thing about being an international team this year was that they called us all up onto the stage and presented each team with a small plaque made from one of the barrel sides with our name and the year engraved on it......i said at least i got to go up on stage and get my picture taken! lol

It is a little different for international teams though, we don't have a specific qualifier here in eastern canada but our one small competition that has always been considered our national championship was fortunately our lucky day this year and we had a clean sweep.....but it's generally decided by the committee for "the team that best represents their country" to compete at Jack in the international division.

We're working on a qualifier for us so that we all have the same opportunities as you all do which i really hope happens!!
