Sacwoodpusher Instroduction
Hello,
I am the husband of Michelle, father of 5, Master-Elect of Elk Grove 173 Free and Accepted Masons of the State of CA, and president of 4 companies. I enjoy designing and building outdoor cooking appliances. I have designed a mobile wood fired pizza oven which is on my back porch. I will be designing a Tandoor/Afghan oven to make naan. I saw a challenge on this website to design/build an outdoor broiler (heat from the top)....and this actually caused me to join the BBQ Brethren Forum. I love to see homemade pit designs, the more unique, the better. The reason I built an outdoor oven is that wheat flour and even wheat aroma causes my 12 year old to have an asthma attack. Even boiling spaghetti causes this reaction. My wife banned baking in the house as a result, so I moved my baking operation onto the back porch. I cook Basque, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, German, and PA Dutch food. I have begun writing a cookbook, but somehow it never gets finished. I love hearth baked breads with massive air holes in the crumb. Ciabatta, Pain Levain, etc..... My userid is sacwoodpusher because I live in Sacramento County, and I am a chess player....so "sac" refers to Sacramento and sacrifice (sac a piece in chess) and a "woodpusher" is a chessplayer. Yeah, I'm one of those BSME/MSME "geeky" Mechanical Engineers who actually likes all of the math and science in the field. I am also a mad scientist.....definitely mad, and I like it that way. FREE TO BE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

So you'll be cooking at the Italian Dinner Fundraiser in March? Might be worth the drive down.
Welcome.
