swamprb has the prototype. It's a great little unit, high quality (can't wait to get one myself). Not sure when it will go into production. I'd contact the CB folds directly...let them know you're interested.

I have gotten all my 30 gallon barrels from gasoline distributors. They have clean unused ones usually you can buy from them.

i thought a "mini" uds was a 15 gallon drum? Maybe you just decided to use a bigger one at 30 gallon? I know there really is no "standard" for it but I just want to make sure If I do get a drum instead of the cajun bandit mini, that I get the right size that my smokey joe lid will fit on. I thought that was the 15 gallon size.. maybe Im wrong? dammit

A 30 gallon drum has an inside diameter of 18-1/4". It will work with the 18 -1/2" Weber Kettle lid. Here's a link to a source for 30 gallon stainless barrels http://www.drumsofsteel.com/30_gallon_containers.html

Mine was made from a 40 quart (10 gallon) stock pot which has a 14" diameter and works with the Smokey Joe lid.

Awesome build! I think I finally figured out what to do with a 15.5 gal empty beer keg that I've had for about 15 years.

For extra cooking grids, I used charcoal grates for the 18.5" Weber Kettle. They measure just under 14" too. The're less than $10 each at Home Depot.

The intakes are 1/2" steel nipples, and that's a 1/2" ball valve on the front.
If anyone needs more detail than that, feel free to PM me.

Nice job Mister Bob!!! - that'll be my next project. I already sourced a free SJ - next i need the pot - and on with the construction
