Default Anybody use the temp control?

I am thinking of adding a temp controller to my Bubba Keg. I am looking for input on this http://www.auberins.com/index.php?ma...99a53ac8ffe505

It is less expensive than Stoker and Guru by 25%.

If it were me I would pay the extra few bucks for the Guru which also monitors the meat temp... something that the Aubur dosen't do (at least the model you have a link to).. Just my $.02

I thought about a Guru, but a Guru is at least a hundred dollars more.

True. But it would be my luck that I get the Aubur and a week after the warrenty goes out it takes a dump... Plus the few competitions that I have been in or involved in everyone (that had such a device) has had the Guru... so that tells me something...

Make sure that your Bubba Keg is properly sealed around the bottom vent. They're notoriously poorly sealed in that area.

Having said that, there was some talk on the BK forum about the Stoker adapter not fitting as well as the Guru.

Cheers,
Braddog

I've been using that set up for quite a while on my Egg. The controller works great and I ordered a Guru fan with Egg adapter to go with it. I bought mine before they offered the complete system (controller, fan, etc.) Once you get past the operators manual (technical) it's really easy to operate and works just as advertised. Two weeks ago i cooked two butts on the Egg for 14 hours and never opened the lid once, once it reached 230 it held it right there for the entire cook.
